Mental Health

Canada has just finished their annual Mental Health Week May 7-13, 2012

“CMHA’s Mental Health Week is an annual national event that takes place during the first week in May to encourage people from all walks of life to learn, talk, reflect and engage with others on all issues relating to mental health.”

This year’s focus was, mental health for all, which is very fitting as 1 in 5 Canadian’s are affected with some kind of mental health issue.   That means that all of us are affected by mental health in one way of another.  Most of us focus on physical health as a top priority which is not wrong but our mental health is equally as important to our well-being.  Learning how to cope with stress is a fantastic start to supporting your wellbeing.  Taking time to be quite each day and calming the inner commotion we made be feeling is important.  As well as using the resources that is provided to us.  You may not be affected but someone you love might be, and helping/supporting them is important to their wellbeing.

Great resources for awareness, letting go of misconceptions and how to get help
