I must be in training to be a mom because I found myself watching Dr. Oz the other day and I am normally one to hate day time television. Talk shows and soap operas
are just not my idea of good entertainment. However, it doesn’t take much to please me when it comes to television. All I want to watch is Seinfeld and Baseball and they are both on a lot (go jays go). Anyhow, I’m not sure if Dr. Oz’s episodes are always like this, but this one was full of tips. I loved it! Some we already knew and some were new to me but all great natural remedies you can come up with at home. I’m gonna let you in on my faves.
His segment was on how to boost your energy or why your energy may be sluggish. There were a few that we’re particularly interesting. One was your routine when waking up. If you wake up sluggish, hit your snooze button a couple times and have over all slow moments waking up, this can add to your slow, sluggish feeling day. Instead, when you awake skip the snooze button (it’s not getting you extra sleep anyhow) and do a bursting jump. Stand Beside your bed, crouch down and do an exploding jump from that position. This will get your blood pumping and kick start your day.
The next one I liked was the rosemary spritz! Like most people you probably rely in caffeine to wake you up. Well this
little trick is suppose to give you a refreshing energy boost and feels good too. Basically in a spritz bottle put in
some fresh rosemary and add water. Let it sit over night and by morning you can spritz it on your face, morning, noon or night really. Oooo refreshing!
Rooibos tea! My mom lives by this stuff. She thinks is absolutely delicious with many health properties. Well, this tea can help you out if you are struggling to fall asleep at night. Many people including myself lay awake at night thinking about absolutely anything. What you have to do the next day, how your previous day went or a problem at work. Stresses can keep us awake which can lead to lack of energy. So drinking rooibos tea can actually relax you and help you get to sleep. Dr. Oz calls it the anti insomnia tea!!
Another miracle tea….licorice tea. Many people can feel sluggish because they are in need of a detox. Too many toxins can weigh you down and make you feel tired all the time. I liked this one because it is one that we recommend as well. Drinking licorice tea or licorice root tea can assist your bod to detox. Also to help with the detox…dry brushing. This is something that I do as well. Basically get a dry bristle brush from any drug store and before you get into the shower dry brush your skin, particularly going down and out from your body. This can also be a way to fight cellulite.
He actually had a bit on cellulite as well. Horse chestnut cream. Never heard of this one but you can apply it atnight before you go to sleep and you can fight off cellulite while you are getting your Zzzz’s. This cream is supposed to improve circulation which can help with the annoying dimples. Obviously cellulite comes from poor diet and not enough exercise but this is worth a shot
I’m sure.
