Yes indeedy, lightly steaming broccoli or fresh and raw is the best way to retain the nutrients. Some great ideas after your broccoli is lightly steamed are to toss it with lemon juice or coconut oil. You could also add some spice by adding cayenne pepper, black pepper, basil or any spice that you like. One way that we really enjoy it as a side dish is Roasted Broccoli with Garlic.
Preheat oven to 450?F
Take a head of broccoli and cut into florets (you can use the stems too. Just peal and chop into cubes.)
Add 3 cloves of sliced garlic and toss with sesame oil or avocado oil
Add sea salt and ground pepper, if desired
Spread onto baking sheet
Bake for 20 minutes without stirring until edges are crispy and the stems and crisp/tender
